If so many people are making hard money of importing old Volkswagen cars. Then why not, for the fun of it, go get them yourself. At least that's my point of view. I get to drive a car, float a boat, and even fly a plane just to return with a piece of ancient history, driving it some 200 Mil. And all this without even breaking the bank! I just have to dedicate my time and efforts to the cause.
There's a topic running on the Meanbugs forum, with pictures of yesteryear, mostly shots of the vw-plant. But one of them really caught my attention. If you're affraid of letting go of the steeringwheel, yet you don't own a sportomatic, why not invest in a steering-column mounted gearshifter? You'll never shift back!
