When travelling trough Scandinavia in your lowered to the tarmac Buss, you'd better not run into this guy as he will pick you out of traffic before you even have time to push the quick-pedal. He'll probably end up telling you all about his time in the armed forces, driving them original busses, getting nostalgic all over you. And it's true, he's not lying, they did use those busses in the Danish army, just check.
Kross Town Traffic
We're on the highway to Hell, again. On June 6 2006, we park and ride our beloved flat-fours ( or other nice cars, bikes, even rollerblades ) trough Ghent. For more info check the official Kross Town Traffic Blog
Satan loves Pink too
While we're all pinked out, check this famous Hotwheels Dragbus. Since the major repopping craze, not so rare anymore, but lot's of special editions were made. This one is detailed by Coop, Satan's graphic designer. Check out his trips and tribulations on his blog.
Garbus or garbage?
This picture was sent to me from Poland. For you to decide if you like the car or not. Personally, I'd drop the front and drive it, Pink Baby Fuchs and all, cause I do like it. Maybe it might help me get in touch with my feminin side or any feminin side at all.
Actually the fenderskirts are what this is all about as they are for sale, but too bad, only in Polyester.

Surfs up
Remember the Svensk Folkabuss I was talking about with the surfer on the side. Well I found the add again and now I ripped the nicer picture. The one were the real surfer is in action, no sails, as those ar for pussies or Players ( just kidding there, it was such an easy strike ).

Kross Town Traffic 666
Don't look at the car, it's the traffic lights I'm interested in. Last time I went to Sweden, we were driving trough Norrköping at night with my host Eric, and instead of slowing down for the trafficlights het kept on motoring on. Have to admit that first lights or two I kind of doubted his sanity. But seems that if traffic is low, and no-one is coming from the other sides, the lights turn to green for oncoming traffic. Handy, now isn't it.
It wouldn't be as much fun for the next Kross Town Traffic, as I plan on losing as many contestants as I can in our cruise trough Ghent.

Isn't she loverly
Some might recognise this as the fine A+ behind of a Porsche for sale. Indeed I found her and I'd buy her if I had some money, like we all should. But, Hellas. If you'd like to have a shot at it, ask Kobus, as he has all the clues, and it's not as if your pockets have to be that deep !

Bandvagn
For those with an addiction to heavy duty off roading. Now for sale in Sverige, only 7900 SEK, drives like a tank, and hell, even looks like one, but powered by our trusted flat 4. Remember I was fond of alternate use for that loverly engine? Forget what I said, this is to much, even for my bad taste.

Night of the living Blogs Pt5
Alternate use for a flat 4, now that rocks my boat. As some of you know, I'm in the process of building a VDub powered Hot Boat, well, in the process of thinking about it anyway, so seeing an engine put to another use than eating tarmac gets my attention. More pictures of this aeroplane are on Griebels Blog. But there's a lot more, from hardcore Eighties cars to fast dragracers all from Danmark, so go visit Griebel, and tell him I tried to ask permission to use the photo first, but there's no contactform on his Blog.
Herr Ghunters Kubel
This post is for one of my regular visitors, Herr Ghunter. No, he's not the one from the funny VW adds, so don't ask him to unpimp your ride, you might not be to happy with the result restocalled to the max. Well he bought a 181 just recently and he might need some uplifting shots of the trusty 181 put to good use, to start working on it. So here's a link to a Swedish (of course) Kubel site.

Bugtour 3 : every cloud has a silver lining
Last Sunday Bugtour 3 was on a roll, too bad the day started of with some cold showers, courtesy of good old Mr. Belgian Weather. But that couldn't spoil our fun at all. And by the end of the day a healthy dose of sunrays made it all better.
By midday we all parked at a restaurant near Munte, imagine the sides of the road laced with lookers, well some of the cars were. Take the Red Ragtop in front, a real Cal Looker of recent volksword show fame, and we just made him drive trough horrendous downpours on bumpy gravelroads, sucking dust trough his 48 IDA's. It takes a man, or a fool, to whip his cars tail like this.
We rode along a nice scenic route prepared for us by Dave and Ollie, and we passed a few castles along the way. You see apart from equally nice cars we also have a lot more history compared to our Cross-Atlantic Brethren in arms. This is the driveway of the Castle of Ooidonk filled with Original German Steel.
And we finished off in style. At the Hof ten Boeket, yet another nice old castle near Ghent, we had ourselves a little BBQ accompagnied with ice cooled drinks.
For more and nicer Pics of all the cars, visit : DVF, VW1500S, Kobus, the Belgische Keverclub, Flatliners and fototreffen.

Oldspeed Challenge
This old picture made me think about the Oldspeed Challenge immediately, as the Lion looking over Waterloo is the logo for it. The ovali in front is however far from a Hot-VW, but it used to haul 2 adults and seven kids. Somewhere on this blog I already mentioned the car, as it belonged to my mums boyfriends parents.
Getting all these old pics has started a liking for them and now I'm on a quest for vintage VW shots. So if your mom drove a beetle during her hippie days, preferably naked with flowers painted all-over her, and the beetle, send them over.

Hannover in 60 seconds
These are the pictures you didn't get to see on Die Volksfreunde or Drag VW's, them are just to afraid to publicise anything but callookers, wimps ! To bad I couldn't be there myself, but Guillermo took these aspecially for me.
First a T25/T3, in my humble opinion, these could be described as the nicest busses VW turned out. Spacy, well behaved, even luxurious and with stylings so eighties you think you're Sonny Crocket in a sharp suit. This one has been hot-rodded, but except for the oval rear window it still is cool, with it's Caddy lights ( and I'm not talking about a VW Caddy ).
And to keep up with the now ever so popular hot-rod theme, how about this chopped notch. It was a pigs nose, so no big loss there. And I think it must be mighty fun and cool to drive around in this one underneath the Californian sun. Only problem is we don't get much of that over here in central Europe.
This former Square on the other hand is nearly half as nice as the black one. Also a pigs nose, but even then a bit a loss I think. The tonneau cover looks a bit odd, and what bothers me most are the flat orange paint and the billet wheels as even on a regular all-american V8 I shun those things.

Night of the living Blogs Pt4
How beautifull is Scandinavia. And how, even more, beautifull is a lakeside picture of a potent T3 Syncro. More pictures of this syncro, but this time in full action climbing the sides of the motorway and a few other bubbla, or should I say Bobble, pics can be found on this Norvegian blog of R.Z.R. It's brand new and promising, although a bit scary, what with the Zombies and all.
